Configure Roles & Permissions

Note

  • Only a platform admin can add or update roles and permissions.

  • A checker approval is needed to successfully configure roles and permissions.

Introduction

Effective management of user roles and permissions is crucial for maintaining a secure and efficient system. The DFX platform provides a robust Roles & Permissions Config module designed to empower administrators with the ability to tailor access rights according to organizational needs. This module ensures that each user has appropriate permissions aligned with their responsibilities, enhancing operational efficiency and data security.

Steps to Add Roles & Permissions

Admin can see a list of existing roles with their details such as Role ID, Role Name, Description, Role Type, and Approval Status. Also, the interface allows admin to view and edit roles. To add a new role, follow these steps:

  1. Click Add New Role.

  2. Enter the name of the new role.

  3. Provide a suitable description for the role.

  4. Select the desired role from the dropdown menu.

  5. Choose Module for which you want to assign permissions from the dropdown. The permissions related to the selected module appear in the Unassigned Permissions list on the left.

  6. Drag and drop the desired permissions from the Unassigned Permissions list to the Assigned Permissions list on the right. You can also search for specific permissions using the search bar in each list.

  7. After assigning permissions for one module, you can select another module from the Module dropdown. Repeat the process of dragging and dropping permissions for the new module.

  8. Click Submit once you have assigned all the desired permissions.

  9. Click Confirm.

  10. Click OK. Upon clicking this button, the role is forwarded to a checker who reviews, validates, and approves the submitted details. Once the details are approved, the role gets successfully created with the desired permissions in DFX platform.

Note

Use the pencil icon to edit the permissions of an existing role on the platform.

By following these steps, administrators can efficiently manage user roles and their permissions, ensuring that users have the appropriate access within the DFX platform.
